The Fedizen
The Fedizen aims to be a Dutch nonprofit organization (Stichting) dedicated to building a global community of independent journalists, public-interest researchers, and technical practitioners who defend the public’s right to know, including members who must publish anonymously.
Our mission is to lower the barriers to publishing public-interest journalism while raising the standards for how it is practiced. Guided by the IFJ Global Charter of Ethics for Journalists, The Fedizen aims to provide the education, tools, infrastructure, support, and protection our members need to do their work safely and credibly across decentralized, censorship-resistant networks of people and systems.
The Fedizen is 100% donation-funded and 100% volunteer-run. Our goal is not to own journalists’ work, but to protect their ability to publish it — especially when they are freelancers, hackers or activists who would otherwise be denied access or protection simply because they are not backed by a traditional newsroom.
